Junior Girl Scouts

8-11 years / 3rd - 6th grade

Form of Government:  Patrol system, committees, town meeting

Girls determine areas of interest to explore, community service projects, trips and product sales.  They become more experienced in planning and evaluating activities and explore types of troop government.  The bronze award may be earned.

  • Work on Badges activities to earn Girl Scout program badges and signs

  • National and council patch programs

  • Close-to-home field trips

  • Community service

  • Girl Scout cookie and Fall products sale

  • Junior leadership program

  • Peer Proofing - how to make friends and deal with negative peer pressure

  • Outdoor adventures:  camping, overnighters, horseback riding, canoeing and mountain biking

  • Girl Sports, National Science Partnership and Just for Juniors programs Issues for girls, such as "Say No to Drugs" and "Facing Family Crises"
